Nick Maruyama is the Executive Director of 630 Volleyball, where he oversees club operations, coach development, and program growth alongside his brother, Tim Maruyama, the club’s owner. Under Nick’s leadership, 630 Volleyball has grown into one of the premier volleyball clubs in the country, including becoming the largest boys volleyball club in the nation while also launching and expanding a competitive girls program.
In addition to his role at 630 Volleyball, Nick serves as a VLA Head Coach and Owner, Director of Chicago Sand Volleyball, and former Assistant Coach at Wheaton College.
As a head coach, Nick has led teams to success on the national stage. In 2021, he coached his 16-1s to a National Championship appearance, becoming one of only three Illinois boys clubs to ever reach an Open Division final. In 2026, his 18 Open team captured the Boys Southwest Classic championship, earning recognition as the first Midwest program to win a major national boys event on the West Coast at the 18 Open level.
Nick earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Northern Illinois University, where he played club volleyball while serving as both team president and captain.
Nick currently resides in Aurora with his wife, Julia.
